I wake up to yet another beautiful summer day in Sydney. I have breakfast with my host mum as well as Claudia, an Italian Navitas English student who is also staying with the same family.

After a 15 minute bus ride we arrive at Bondi. Claudia has taught me to enjoy proper Italian coffee, so we grab a quick caffeine fix from Central Baking Depot, my favourite café in Sydney.

General English classes start with a conversation class about accents and slang – a fun way to start the day.

For the myStudy electives a chose to do DVD theatre, where today we watched a classic Australian comedy, Muriel’s wedding. Such a nice way to boost your listening skills.

Australia is a multicultural country with great cuisine from all over the world. Today I went to a Japanese take-away place called Ramen Kan. Yummy!

Once the afternoon classes are over, we head straight to the famous Bondi beach for surf lessons. I hit the beach several times a week and the area is also full of cool cafes, bars and shops.

BBQ! Since it’s a warm Friday night, my host family decided to make real Aussie BBQ for dinner. Not only was the food yummy, but it also reflects the typical laid-back Australian lifestyle. I will miss these when I leave Australia.

A quick Skype with family before bedtime. Heading to bed early tonight as tomorrow I’m going to the Blue Mountains as part of Navitas activity program, Boomerang Club.
